Iran strikes oil tanker: 'It passed without permission, the bill was settled'

Tensions have soared in the Strait of Hormuz, the heart of global oil trade. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that it had struck an oil tanker belonging to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with a kamikaze UAV, claiming the vessel attempted to pass through the strait without authorization or payment.

A last-minute development that could set energy corridors in the Middle East ablaze has occurred. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps carried out a military intervention against commercial vessels it alleged were not complying with regulations in the Strait of Hormuz. According to the official statement, a tanker attempting to pass through the strait without making the necessary legal payments and notifications was targeted and struck by a kamikaze UAV from the air.

''THEY STRUCK THE TANKER'S FUNNEL''

Military footage of the terrifying moments when the oil tanker, confirmed to be linked to the UAE, was struck was released to the world via social media in a short time.

In the released recordings, it was seen that a one-way kamikaze UAV of Iranian manufacture, known as the "Raad-3" and equipped with camera hardware, was used. The moments when the kamikaze UAV targeted the exact funnel section of the giant oil tanker moving through the gulf and detonated were captured on camera second by second.

"THIS INCIDENT IS AN EXCEPTION, CONTROL IS ENTIRELY WITH US"

While alarm bells rang in global markets following the attack, a statement came from the Iranian side aimed at softening the situation while also serving as a warning. Arguing that the events were not a systematic blockade but "an exception," the Revolutionary Guard declared their absolute dominance in the region with the following words:

"In the last 24 hours, 26 vessels, including oil tankers, container ships, and other commercial vessels, have passed safely through the Strait of Hormuz under the coordination and security oversight provided by our forces."

''SHIPS THAT DO NOT OBTAIN PERMISSION ARE TARGETS''

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy reiterated its warning to merchant shipping fleets, emphasizing in a stern tone that "transits through the Strait of Hormuz are currently being conducted through a strict permission and coordination system entirely managed by our forces." A signal was given that ships failing to comply with this system could face similar military sanctions.
