Is public transport free on October 29 Republic Day?

Marmaray, Başkentray, İZBAN, the Sirkeci-Kazlıçeşme Rail System Line, and the Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport-Arnavutköy Metro Line will provide free service on October 29 Republic Day.

Minister Uraloğlu announced that urban rail systems under the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure will provide free service on October 29 Republic Day.

Stating that they aim to facilitate urban transportation for citizens and increase the accessibility of rail system services on the 101st anniversary of the Republic, Uraloğlu noted the following:

"In accordance with the Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette dated October 19 with the signature of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, our citizens will be able to use Marmaray, Başkentray, İZBAN, the Sirkeci-Kazlıçeşme Rail System Line, and the Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport-Arnavutköy Metro free of charge.

As the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, we aim for our citizens to travel with comfort and ease in urban transportation on this meaningful day. These lines will provide all our people with a fast, easy, and economical transportation opportunity throughout the day."
