According to the statement made by the Mersin Provincial Police Department, efforts to uncover the actions and activities of the terrorist organization ISIS are continuing in cooperation with the National Intelligence Organization (MİT).
In this context, an operation was conducted against 16 suspects who were identified as having previously engaged in armed activities on behalf of ISIS, seeking to establish a structure in Mersin in line with the organization's ideology, and having served in the so-called ISIS intelligence unit.
During the raids conducted at the addresses identified within the scope of the operation, 16 suspects were detained and taken to the police station.
