İSKİ announces: Recent rains have filled Istanbul's dams

According to İSKİ data, the occupancy rate of the dams supplying water to the city has increased by 5.49 percent in the last week. Water levels in the Alibey, Büyükçekmece, Darlık, Elmalı, Istrancalar, Kazandere, Pabuçdere, Sazlıdere, Terkos, and Ömerli dams have risen with the recent rainfall.

The occupancy rate in the dams supplying water to Istanbul has risen to 40.20 percent following the rains over the last week.

The water level in the Alibey Dam was measured at 51.31 percent, Büyükçekmece Dam at 25.56, Darlık Dam at 57.71, Elmalı Dam at 86.71, Istrancalar Dam at 36.41, Kazandere Dam at 12.45, Pabuçdere Dam at 10.76, Sazlıdere Dam at 22.2, Terkos Dam at 24.37, and Ömerli Dam at 65.11. The amount of precipitation that fell on the dams this year was 803.18 kilograms per square meter.

While the total storage capacity of the dams and ponds supplying water to the city is 868 million 683 thousand cubic meters, the amount of water has dropped to the level of 347.09 million cubic meters as of today. The amount of water received from Melen and Yeşilçay this year was 703.79 million cubic meters. The amount of water supplied to the city from drinking water treatment plants this year was 1 billion 59 million 53 thousand cubic meters.

Daily water consumption in Istanbul was recorded as 2 million 984 thousand cubic meters as of yesterday.
