İsmail Saymaz takes a jab at Emre Belözoğlu for targeting Halil Umut Meler: 'One would think he lost 4.2 million dollars to a fraudster promising a fund...'
Journalist İsmail Saymaz commented on Ankaragücü Manager Emre Belözoğlu, whose footage targeting the referee after the 1-1 draw between MKE Ankaragücü and Çaykur Rizespor emerged, saying, 'One would think he lost 4.2 million dollars to a fraudster promising a fund and is angry at them.'
The events that took place following the MKE Ankaragücü – Çaykur Rizespor match played in the 15th week of the Süper Lig have gone down in Turkish football history as a dark night.
With the final whistle of the match, which ended 1-1, Ankaragücü President Faruk Koca entered the pitch and punched referee Halil Umut Meler. Meler, who fell to the ground after the blow, was kicked by those accompanying Koca while on the ground.
Speaking at the press conference after the match, Ankaragücü Manager Emre Belözoğlu said, "I am very sad, I do not want to say anything else."
HE HAD TARGETED HALIL UMUT MELER
However, footage emerged showing Belözoğlu targeting referee Halil Umut Meler after the final whistle of the match. While Belözoğlu was seen shouting at Halil Umut Meler in a heated manner, Çaykur Rizespor Manager İlhan Palut was seen trying to calm Belözoğlu down.
Journalist İsmail Saymaz shared the widely discussed footage on his social media account with the words, "One would think he lost 4.2 million dollars to a fraudster promising a fund and is angry at them," making a reference to Belözoğlu, who had lost money to Seçil Erzan.
