Israel ban remains on paper! Trade continues
Turkey's exports to Israel reached 116.1 million dollars in September. While this figure increased following the AKP government's so-called ban decision, exports to Palestine also reached record levels. Economists claim that trade is actually being redirected to Israel.
Approximately 6 months have passed since the AKP government's so-called decision to ban exports to Israel. However, exports to Israel have increased during this period.
Economist İnan Mutlu shared a table on his X account, which shows that according to today's data from the Israel Central Bureau of Statistics, Turkey exported 116.1 million dollars to Israel in September.

'SOME CONTINUE TO KEEP THEIR SHIPS SAILING'
In his post, İnan stated, "According to today's data from the Israel Central Bureau of Statistics, Turkey exported 116.1 million dollars to Israel in September. Total exports to Israel in the first nine months reached 1 billion 809 million dollars. Despite the genocide in Gaza, some continue to keep their ships sailing."
RECORD INCREASE TO PALESTINE AFTER THE BAN ON ISRAEL BEGAN
On the other hand, Ekonomim newspaper columnist Alaattin Akkaş pointed out that exports to Palestine rose to 164.5 million dollars, noting that the surge coincides with the period when the export ban to Israel began. Akkaş said, "It's not as if exports to that country would be made by showing them as Palestine on paper once the gate to Israel is closed!"

The relevant section from Akkaş's article is as follows:
"Exports to Palestine, which were 14 million dollars in September last year, have increased more than tenfold this year to 164.5 million dollars. Exports in the first nine months have also increased more than fivefold, rising from 90.9 million dollars to 551.3 million dollars. Surely! It is noteworthy that Turkey's exports to Palestine remained relatively low for the first four months, and the climb began in May. Surely this climb that started in May has nothing to do with the ban on exports to Israel that month! It's not as if exports to that country would be made by showing them as Palestine on paper once the gate to Israel is closed!"
Journalist Metin Cihan had previously claimed that after the trade ban with Israel began, Turkey was bypassing the embargo by making it appear as though exports were being made to Palestine.
