Istanbul's 2-month tourist numbers revealed

Istanbul, one of the leading cities in tourism, hosted 2 million 457 thousand 518 foreign visitors in the first 2 months of the year.

According to the statement made by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the number of foreign visitors arriving in Istanbul increased by 8.08 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

Istanbul, which hosted half of the 4 million 341 thousand 606 foreign visitors who came to Turkey in the first 2 months, was most preferred by Russians in February.

According to February data, Istanbul, which hosted 1 million 291 thousand 522 foreign visitors with an increase of 19.14 percent compared to the same month last year, has become the locomotive of Turkish tourism.

In February, Istanbul was visited by 138 thousand 957 people from the Russian Federation, 95 thousand 465 people from Germany, 75 thousand 312 people from Iran, 56 thousand 430 people from England (United Kingdom), 48 thousand 902 people from France, 43 thousand 415 people from Saudi Arabia, and 41 thousand 472 people from the United States of America.
