The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that an investigation has been initiated against those who created the content of the manipulative posts regarding the corruption investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) and those who disseminated them.
In the statement made by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated that information of a manipulative nature was shared on some social media platforms regarding the corruption investigation into the IMM.
The statement noted that the posts in question were misleading and understood to be aimed at influencing the judiciary, and that an ex officio investigation has been launched against those who created and disseminated the content of the posts.
The statement included the following: "Furthermore, within the scope of the ongoing financial investigation, there is no secret witness at this stage as stated in the posts. Respectfully announced to the public."
