Warning from Istanbul Governor Gül: "Be prepared for the storm"
Istanbul Governor Davut Gül has issued a warning to be prepared for potential disruptions on land and at sea caused by the storm expected in the city.
In a post on his social media account, Governor Gül noted that according to the latest assessments, the wind, which is currently continuing as strong and occasionally stormy in Istanbul, will increase in intensity starting Sunday morning, blowing as a strong storm and occasionally as a full gale.
Stating that air temperatures are expected to drop significantly on Sunday to around 6-8 degrees, Gül indicated that precipitation across Istanbul is expected to be in the form of rain in some places on Sunday.
Governor Gül stated that sleet is expected to be seen in the northern and higher parts of the city, and warned citizens to be careful and take precautions against the negative effects that strong winds and storms may cause on land and at sea.
