Istanbul Governor's Office announces: 151 people injured
The Istanbul Governor's Office announced that there were no fatalities following the earthquake, but 151 people were injured.
Istanbul has once again faced the reality of earthquakes. Following the earthquake that occurred around 12:13 off the coast of Silivri, many tremors occurred, the largest of which was 6.2 in magnitude.
This earthquake in Istanbul was felt in many provinces. The Istanbul Governor's Office announced that while there were no fatalities in the 6.2 magnitude earthquake and the subsequent tremors, 151 people were injured.
The statement made by the Governor's Office is as follows:
"There have been no negative impacts affecting general life in energy supply and infrastructure, natural gas supply, or drinking water and sewage infrastructure.
There is no loss of life in the earthquake.
The treatment of our 151 citizens, who were injured due to jumping from heights out of panic, is continuing in hospitals, and they are not in life-threatening condition. There is no destruction of residential buildings across the city. An abandoned building in our Fatih district has collapsed, and there were no deaths or injuries in that incident.
Field operations by the relevant units are ongoing."
