According to the report, the following statements were included:
"In the examination conducted in schools in Istanbul, 1,428 schools were identified as risky. In the process that has passed, 481 of the risky schools have been demolished and rebuilt, while 799 have been made earthquake-resistant through reinforcement. 148 schools have been vacated, and feasibility, reconstruction design, and reinforcement works for these schools are ongoing.
In 2023, 16 schools in Istanbul completed their reconstruction process and were opened for education. The number of classrooms in these 16 schools, which was 244 before demolition, was increased to 380 at the end of the reconstruction process, with 136 new classrooms added to the schools. Furthermore, the amount of indoor space these 16 schools possess was increased from 42,955 square meters to 117,813 square meters with the addition of social facilities such as workshops, sports halls, theaters, and conference halls to the school campuses."
