Istanbul Governor's Office announces: We expect it to lose its effect

In a statement made by the Istanbul Governor's Office, it was stated, "Evaluating meteorological data, the system, which is manifesting as precipitation and strong winds, is expected to lose its effect during the night connecting Sunday, November 26, to Monday, November 27."

The Governor's Office statement is as follows:

Since Saturday, November 25, a full-scale storm, for which orange-coded warnings were issued based on data from the Turkish State Meteorological Service, has continued to affect Istanbul. The system, which is manifesting as precipitation and strong winds, is expected to lose its effect during the night connecting Sunday, November 26, to Monday, November 27.

As the Istanbul Governor's Office, in addition to the warnings we have issued to our public, our relevant public institutions and organizations have also carried out work to prevent potential negative situations by taking the necessary precautions.

All our relevant units, primarily AFAD, have taken the necessary measures during this process. The incidents that have occurred in Istanbul due to weather events since Saturday, November 25, are listed as follows:

A total of 114 incidents have been responded to across Istanbul, including 6 water evacuations, 11 roof collapses, 48 fallen trees, 1 wall collapse, 46 dangerous debris incidents, 1 vehicle rescue, and 1 fallen utility pole.

While no negative incidents occurred at Istanbul Airport due to the precipitation and storm, 46 flights were canceled at Sabiha Gökçen Airport.

A total of 49 voyages, including 28 by İDO, 14 by BUDO, and 7 by City Lines (Şehir Hatları), were canceled due to the storm, while no negative incidents occurred in Bosphorus traffic.

There have been no energy issues across the city, other than small-scale power outages.
