Warning from the Istanbul Governor's Office regarding "heavy rainfall"
The Istanbul Governor's Office has issued a warning to be cautious against potential negative consequences due to the heavy rainfall expected to affect the city.
In a statement made on the Governor's Office's social media account, it was noted that according to the assessments of the General Directorate of Meteorology, localized thunderstorms are expected in Istanbul starting tonight.
The statement urged citizens to be careful and take precautions against negative conditions such as flash floods, inundation, lightning strikes, hail, and strong winds during precipitation.
Storms and heavy rainfall in the Balkans are currently affecting neighboring countries, primarily Bulgaria and Greece. It is estimated that after the adverse weather conditions enter the country from the western regions, they will primarily affect Çanakkale, Edirne, İzmir, and the coastal strip. The adverse weather will move toward Tekirdağ, Kırklareli, Balıkesir, and partially Istanbul and Bursa. In Istanbul, the Silivri, Büyükçekmece, and Küçükçekmece line is expected to be the most affected.
