While heavily cloudy weather is expected throughout the day across Istanbul, it is predicted that thunderstorms and winds, which may reach storm force in some areas, will take effect starting from the late afternoon hours.

Authorities reiterate their warning that as the wind begins to blow strongly from the southwest as a 'lodos' (southwesterly wind), the storm could cause serious damage in various parts of the city.

Meteorology experts point out that intermittent showers are expected, particularly between 12:00 and 18:00, with thunderstorms and heavy downpours likely between 18:00 and 19:00. It is emphasized that incidents such as roof damage, fallen trees and poles, as well as flue gas poisoning from stoves and natural gas, may occur during this period. The statement also urges citizens to be cautious and prepared for potential disruptions in transportation.

In weather forecasts for the coming days, heavy rain is expected on January 11, with temperatures ranging between 7 and 9 degrees. On January 12, it is stated that snowfall may be seen as temperatures drop to between 2 and 4 degrees. According to weather reports, very cloudy weather with temperatures ranging from minus 1 to 6 degrees will prevail on January 13. On January 14, partly cloudy skies and temperatures rising to between 5 and 9 degrees are forecast.
