It has been revealed who smuggled out the letter Dilan Polat sent to her mother-in-law

Dilan Polat, who is being held in custody on charges of 'money laundering,' caused a stir at Marmara Prison after sending a letter to her mother-in-law following the 75-page indictment prepared against her.

Engin Polat's mother, Şükran Polat, shared the letter Dilan Polat sent to her on her social media account.

The letter written by Dilan Polat, who has been in prison for 8 months, reads as follows:

"They are persecuting the public. They are separating us from our children unjustly. We are being tried without a single piece of evidence in the indictment. We have no guilt. They are tormenting and persecuting us. Because of only false witness statements in the indictment, we will remain longing for our children for months more. They have left me here to die. If something happens to me—and I can no longer live—I do not forgive any of them. I do not have the strength, not even a single day left, to endure the longing for my children. I can no longer bear this injustice. I do not forgive them. May God deal with you. I am dying separated from my children. You separated us here unjustly and without cause. You called a family an organization. You turned a family business into an organization. You said money laundering. You called the money we earned by working with our heads held high 'dirty.' All the reports have arrived. You persecuted us, you said it was media pressure. In one night, with slanders, you took us from our home, took videos and photos, and shared them with the media. You have tormented us from the beginning. My freedom is unimportant. You separated us from our children unjustly, without cause. And you are still continuing; it has no end. A mother should not be persecuted this much; it should not have been done. All reports are available. The prosecutor requested release, but I am still separated from my children unjustly. I do not forgive anyone who takes my rights."

The letter that Şükran Polat shared on social media caused an uproar at Silivri Prison. When it was noticed that the letter did not bear any 'Reviewed' stamp, the prison management launched an investigation into the staff. The statements of the employees working in that section were taken.

In a report by Ercan Öztürk for MedyaRadar, it was alleged that the letter was smuggled out by lawyer Haydar Enes Çetinkaya, who visits Polat in prison every day and is also a defendant in the case. It was learned that Çetinkaya gave his notebook to Polat during the visit, and after he left, the page written on was sent to Engin Polat's mother.
