In a statement made by the DEM Party yesterday evening, it was stated: "Our DEM Party Imralı Delegation member and Deputy Speaker of the Assembly Sırrı Süreyya Önder was hospitalized this evening due to a serious heart condition. The necessary intervention has been performed by the doctors."

Stating, "I am going through a serious illness process," Önder had expressed his struggle with health problems with the following words:

"I have wandered around hospital wards quite a bit. On this occasion, I have a difficult clinical picture across three or four different centers, including with my professor Abidin at Marmara University, Mr. Fahrettin Koca and Medipol, and my professor Hasan at Bilkent City Hospital.
