It turns out the person who opened fire at the wedding was a police officer

The incident, which took place on October 11, 2025, in the Cincin neighborhood of Aydın, caused a widespread reaction on social media and among the local public. According to reports, 27-year-old Hilmi Bahar, who was attending his relatives' wedding ceremony, suddenly felt pain in his leg while sitting down. Seeing bleeding on his leg, Bahar was immediately taken to the hospital, where an examination revealed that a stray bullet had struck his leg.

Following the incident, doctors removed the bullet from his body during an operation two days later and handed it over to forensic units for examination. Gendarmerie teams collected all camera footage recorded during the wedding to uncover the cause of the incident and those responsible. The footage focused specifically on individuals who fired shots into the air during the wedding.

As a result of a comprehensive ballistic analysis, it was determined that the bullet was fired from the service pistol of Commissioner Ümit A., who serves at the Aydın Provincial Police Department and was reportedly on leave at the time of the incident. Following the resolution of the case, Ümit A. was taken into custody and subsequently arrested by the court and sent to prison.

While the incident once again highlights the danger of firing guns into the air at weddings, the investigation into the matter continues. Public reaction has expressed that it is unacceptable for members of the security forces to be involved in such incidents.
