It was claimed he had disappeared: Where is Bashar al-Assad?

In Syria, jihadist groups led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) took control of the capital, Damascus, early this morning.

Following this development, which has shifted the political and military balance in Syria, claims emerged that President Bashar al-Assad had left the country.

DISAPPEARED FROM THE MAP SHORTLY AFTER

Reuters, citing two senior military officials, reported that Assad left Damascus early this morning to head to an unknown location. According to Flightradar data, a Syrian Airlines plane that took off from Damascus Airport flew toward the coastal region before making a sudden U-turn, flying in the opposite direction, and disappearing from the map shortly after.

'SYRIA BELONGS TO ALL SYRIANS'
