In a maritime accident that occurred in the Bosphorus at night, a container ship named "KAPPA" ran aground off the coast of Yeniköy due to a steering failure. The incident, which caused a brief moment of panic, resulted in significant damage to a mansion.

The accident occurred after the ship, which was en route from Russia to the Kocaeli Derince Port, suffered a malfunction around 00:12 and sounded its siren for approximately two minutes. The ship lost control, veered toward the shore, and ran aground. Following the incident, vehicles and diving teams from the General Directorate of Coastal Safety were quickly dispatched to the area. The teams began rescue operations with the support of the Kurtarma-5, Kurtarma-6, and KEGM-5 tugboats.

Bosphorus traffic was temporarily suspended in both directions for security reasons. After the ship was pulled from its position by tugboats, maritime traffic returned to normal as of 07:50 in the morning.

Regarding the owner of the damaged mansion, various claims surfaced on social media. Initial posts suggested that the mansion belonged to television presenter Müge Anlı.

However, as a result of investigations, it was determined that the damaged mansion belongs to well-known businesswoman Bianka Sömer Türkmen. Fortunately, there were no injuries in the accident.

On the other hand, it was reported that the same ship, "KAPPA," experienced a similar malfunction off the coast of Kandilli in 2022, and that traffic in the Bosphorus was temporarily closed at that time as well. Footage of the accident was recorded by citizens in the vicinity using their mobile phone cameras.
