İYİ Party's Burak Akburak speaks out: 'Meral Akşener is not the only one to blame.' He reveals who is responsible for the failure

İYİ Party's Burak Akburak speaks out: 'Meral Akşener is not the only one to blame.' He reveals who is responsible for the failure

In a statement published on his X account, İYİ Party Head of Local Administrations Burak Akburak said:

"I am resigning from my position as Head of Local Administrations, which I have held with great honor. I want it to be known that our Grand Congress will be a congress where it is confirmed that the hope of Turkey is the İYİ Party.

I am always by our Leader's side! With love and respect," he stated, submitting his resignation.

With it becoming clear that the İYİ Party will hold a convention on April 27, while there is curiosity about what step Meral Akşener will take, a post came from Akburak pointing to the party's General Administrative Board (GİK).

Criticizing the fact that Akşener is being shown as the only culprit in the process and the decisions taken, Burak Akburak made the following post:

"The GİK, the Board, and the MPs who said 'let's leave the table.' Except for 3 people who said 'let's sit back at the table,' it was us again. But Meral Akşener is guilty! The GİK that said 'third way.' The GİK that approved it again. But because of the 'third way,' Meral Akşener is guilty! Those who said 'we must do this even if we get 1%' when setting out on this path are now silent. It is shameful!"

MERAL AKŞENER SPOKE AS FOLLOWS AFTER THE GİK MEETING WHERE THE 'FREE AND INDEPENDENT' DECISION WAS TAKEN:

"Our General Administrative Board (GİK) members took a vote of 14 to 35; one friend did not attend, Mr. Bilge Yılmaz could not come from America, so it was 35 to 14. With 14 'yes' and 35 'no' votes, we will strive to enter the election alone as a third option and create a third way. We will enter the election as free and independent. Now, there is something else interesting here. If we can explain ourselves correctly, I am addressing my party members, if we can explain it correctly, I have been actively involved in politics for 30 years.

For the first time in a political party, we held a 9-hour meeting where people, those GİK members, addressed each other with arguments, trying to convince each other with arguments without fighting or insulting each other.

It was a decision where democracy was fully applied and we all said we would abide by the result, a decision that was taken by our friends among themselves, where I, as the general chair, did not even make an implication, meaning I definitely did not reveal which view I held.

I am proud of all our friends who voted 'yes' or 'no' on this decision, and I especially thank them all. This is a first in Turkey; everyone explained from their own perspective which situation would be more correct without breaking or destroying anything, and we held a secret ballot.

I would like to thank my friends here in your presence. I will return to Ankara from here with great enthusiasm, happiness, and excitement, with the belief that our Metropolitan candidate, whom we will announce in Trabzon, will also win."
