İYİ Party Chairman Dervişoğlu comments on resignations within his party

Dervişoğlu arrived in Isparta as part of a series of visits. Dervişoğlu and his accompanying delegation first met with İYİ Party Isparta Provincial Chairman İbrahim Tekeli and party members at the party headquarters. Responding to journalists' questions at the İYİ Party Isparta provincial building and expressing his pleasure at being in Isparta, Dervişoğlu said, "Isparta is a place where Süleyman Demirel was born, raised, and rushed to serve the Turkish nation. He also left important marks in the history of democracy. He is one of the architects of a developed, great, and democratic Turkey, who considered leaving six times as the will and preference of the people, and returning seven times as a virtue of democracy, engraving it into our affection. It is our duty and responsibility to be the followers of his legacy. As the İYİ Party, we will continue our journey by following in the footsteps of these important figures. Turkey has very important problems. You will not see us speaking outside of the truth. I came to Isparta today to promise that a new hope can be cultivated."

"WE WILL LEAD"

Drawing attention to the Dereboğazı road and the water recession in Lake Eğirdir in Isparta, Dervişoğlu said, "Similar problems to those found everywhere in Turkey are also being experienced in Isparta. Problems that should not exist in our age, and in such a period, there should not be problems stemming from roads and transportation. Furthermore, we are facing a management approach that lacks environmental sensitivity. This government has certain shortcomings in terms of taking care of our streams, lakes, and forests. We approach these with a holistic consciousness and historical understanding, and we frequently announce our suggestions for solutions both in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and in the presence of the public, not just by identifying the problems. Having environmental sensitivity is not an easy thing; it requires a culture. As you know, Süleyman Demirel, one of the most important sons raised here, also talks about the steppe's struggle with green. We say that we will be the followers of that struggle. Those things you mentioned are the autonomous investments of the state, that is, the investments it is obliged to make. All these things you mentioned stem from years of neglect, but there are also physical errors. It causes fatal accidents. Apart from that, Isparta is a region engaged in farming, where field and garden crops are grown. This is the lake district, so product diversity is very high, but as you would appreciate, banks in Turkey are making money, while producers are losing money. If you are facing such a picture, it means there is a mistake. The perpetrators of that mistake must be determined by the citizens. We, as a party, will lead this," he said.

"WE NEED HEARTS, NOT BAGS"

Continuing his speech, Chairman Dervişoğlu evaluated the 2024 local elections and addressed the resignations in the İYİ Party, stating, "We are all responsible for the wrong strategies we implemented and the wrong decisions we made. This is not a situation related to the past; the party also represents an institutional identity. Today, in credible public opinion polls, our support has tripled since the day we took office. Yes, there are some resignations within the İYİ Party; I wish these resignations had not happened, but as you know, resignation is a unilateral decision. If your party continues to rise under today's conditions, it means that it has not been negatively affected by these resignations. Some people can pack their bags and leave. We need people's hearts, not their bags. We are continuing our journey with those who are in our hearts."

Following his statements here, Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu visited the mausoleum of Süleyman Demirel and the district municipalities of Gelendost and Yalvaç.
