İYİ Party Chairman Dervişoğlu speaks in Saraçhane: 'We must bring all the lights together'

IMM President and expected CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, whose university diploma was cancelled yesterday evening, was detained this morning by hundreds of police officers who arrived at his home.

İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu arrived at Istanbul's Saraçhane following the operation regarding the detention of IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu. 

Dervişoğlu arrived at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality building in Saraçhane. Dervişoğlu was welcomed at the door by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel.

Highlights from Dervişoğlu's remarks are as follows: 

"The only way to defeat collective evil is through a unified opposition.

A single stance must be displayed. To disperse the 23-year darkness, we must bring all the lights together.

Filing chain lawsuits against Ekrem İmamoğlu, cancelling his diploma, and detaining him at the first light of dawn with dozens of police officers is oppression, tyranny, and a form of madness that only occurs in dictatorships.

They will also ask that child of the Black Sea, who has walked this long road with the spirit of a Kasımpaşa native; what is the name for both setting an ambush and shooting from behind?"
