İYİ Party experiences 'Masked Ball' shock following election defeat

Five days before the election, the İYİ Party published a new video on its social media account, which subsequently became a major topic of discussion.

Following the use of the work 'Masked Ball' (Maskeli Balo), which belongs to author Murathan Mungan, in the video, Mungan reacted and stated that he would file a lawsuit.

The court, having decided that the İYİ Party used the work 'Masked Ball' by author Murathan Mungan without permission, has issued a ban on the advertisement.

According to the report in DurakMedya, a ban has been placed on the work of famous author and poet Murathan Mungan that was used by the İYİ Party.

The advertisement titled "Masked Ball and Fake Faces," which utilized the work "Masked Ball" by author Murathan Mungan, has been halted. The court responded with lightning speed to the application for an injunction filed by the famous figure's lawyer, Bişar Abdi Alınak.

The Istanbul 1st Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights Court has ordered the suspension of the film, which the İYİ Party had been broadcasting on social media and national television channels.

MURATHAN MUNGAN HAD ANNOUNCED HE WOULD FILE A LAWSUIT

On March 27, Mungan made a statement on his X (Twitter) account and announced that he would file a lawsuit due to the unauthorized use of his work. Mungan shared the following lines:

“I have learned with sadness that the lines forming the spirit and idea of my song known as 'Masked Ball' have been used by a political party without my consent or knowledge. I would like to announce that a lawsuit will be filed tomorrow by Bişar Alınak and Partners regarding the matter.”
