Jolani: '14 million Syrians will return'
The leader of the new administration in Syria, HTS leader Abu Mohammad al-Jolani, claimed that following the overthrow of the Bashar al-Assad regime, social consensus would be achieved in the country and millions of Syrians would return to their homes. Jolani stated, "We will prioritize justice and harmony in state-building."
The leader of the new administration in Syria and head of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), Abu Mohammad al-Jolani, said that Syrians have begun to return to their country rapidly following the end of the Bashar al-Assad regime. In an interview with YouTube content creator Joe HaTTab, Jolani stated, "I believe that within two years, 14 million Syrians will return to their lands. Only 1 to 1.5 million people will remain abroad."
'WE WILL BUILD JUSTICE-BASED INSTITUTIONS'
Jolani stated that among the new administration's priorities are the construction of institutions that will dispense justice and the achievement of social harmony. "We will overcome problems with stable plans in state-building. Through social education and consensus, people in Syria will live together, loving one another for the first time," he said.
Describing their goal as a "victory without revenge," Jolani expressed that they are approaching those who defected and joined the new administration with good intentions. However, he emphasized that certain exceptions, such as those who committed torture in Sednaya Prison, used barrel bombs, or carried out massacres, will not be pardoned.
