Justice Minister Tunç: Turkey has the world's most transparent judicial system
Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç, speaking at the opening ceremony of the Samsun Forensic Medicine Group Presidency service building, stated that there were only 78 independent courthouse buildings in 2002.
Explaining that there are now 382 independent courthouse buildings, Tunç said, "Currently, we have 68 courthouses in the 2025 investment program. 25 of these are in the construction phase, their construction is ongoing, and we have 7 forensic medicine buildings. Again, we have housing investments for nearly 3 thousand of our justice personnel in 120 locations. On one hand, we are increasing the number of child justice centers. We also have significant work in our investment program that meets the needs of our penal institutions, probation directorates, and all of these."
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN THE JUDICIARY
Stating that they are making great efforts to put the possibilities of technology at the service of the judiciary, Tunç continued as follows:
"Our UYAP system is a world-class project, and we are constantly improving UYAP. Now, by supporting it with artificial intelligence, we will share with our nation in the coming days projects that will make our work even easier with domestic and national software and artificial intelligence that will facilitate the work of our judicial personnel and justice personnel in the judiciary and in the provision of judicial services."
"They could call those who laid their robes before the coup-plotting, tutelary mentality on February 28 independent"
Stating that they have brought 2,076 assistant judges and prosecutors into the system in the last 2 years, Tunç used the following expressions:
"The world's most transparent judicial system and judicial organization exist in Turkey. We can say this clearly. Look, this is not an exaggeration or anything. Some people can go on television and pontificate in open sessions. There are even those who say that Turkey is not a state of law. Those who say that, especially those people we remember from that past period, whom we call 'writers and illustrators', those people known as 'doyens', in quotation marks, those people who say today that 'the judiciary in Turkey is not independent, it is not impartial', were able to call the judicial members who practically laid their robes before that coup-plotting, tutelary mentality on February 28 independent and impartial."
WE HAVE 264 NEW TARGETS
Pointing to the importance of legal and administrative trial processes, Tunç said, "It is important that legal proceedings are concluded as soon as possible. In this sense, there are important goals that simplify processes, especially simplify hearings, where the principle is that criminal hearings should end in a single hearing, and that try to put forward a system that can ensure this. Of course, we also have studies and goals regarding facilitating access to justice. We will complete approximately 264 new targets, planning the next 4 years, and the things to be done in the first stage within this year of 2025."
Following the speech, the building was opened. After touring the service building, Tunç signed the honorary book and received information from the authorities. Within the scope of the project, the building, which has a closed area of 13 thousand 634 square meters, includes important units such as the morgue specialization department and the chemistry specialization department. The structure, consisting of a basement, ground floor, and two floors, will allow for the execution of modern forensic medicine services.
HE SPOKE WITH THE SON OF THE MARTYRED PROSECUTOR
Meanwhile, Minister Tunç chatted with Hakan Taner Uzun, the son of Public Prosecutor Murat Uzun, who was martyred as a result of an attack by the separatist terrorist organization in the Ovacık district of Tunceli in 2012. Minister Tunç said to Uzun, who answered "Yes" to the question "Are you going to be a prosecutor?", "Good for you, following in his father's footsteps."
