Justice Minister Tunç's statement on DEM Party and terrorism: 'It becomes inevitable'

Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç answered questions from journalists at the reception held at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) as part of the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day.

"THOSE WHO WANT POLITICS MUST REJECT IT"

Regarding a question about MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's call for the 'closure of the DEM Party,' Tunç said, "The DEM Party must distance itself from the terrorist organization; those who want democratic politics must reject terrorism.

There is no violence in democracies; freedom of thought is protected to the fullest, but if you support violence, a democratic state of law will not accept this.

The DEM Party has not been able to distance itself from the terrorist organization; if it continues like this, this becomes inevitable," he said.
