Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç announces: New development in the Narin Güran investigation
Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç announced that the number of detainees in the investigation launched by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the death of Narin Güran, who went missing in Diyarbakır and whose lifeless body was found yesterday (September 8), has risen to 24.
Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç has made a statement regarding the investigation into Narin Güran, who went missing on August 21 in the Tavşantepe neighborhood of Diyarbakır’s Bağlar district and whose lifeless body was found in a sack by a stream 19 days later.
Announcing that some of the tissue samples taken during the autopsy will be examined at the Diyarbakır Forensic Medicine Group Presidency and some at the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institution Presidency, Minister Tunç stated that the number of detainees has risen to 24.
In a statement made on his social media account, Minister Tunç included the following remarks:
"The autopsy process, which began at 10:30 AM by forensic experts at the Diyarbakır Forensic Medicine Institution to determine the exact cause of death within the scope of the investigation launched by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the death of our child Narin Güran, which has broken our hearts, was completed at 9:40 PM. During the autopsy performed by the expert forensic team, chemical, biological, pathological, and other examinations must be conducted on the tissue samples taken. For this reason, a report regarding the exact cause of death will be prepared after some of the samples are examined by the Diyarbakır Forensic Medicine Group Presidency and some by the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institution Presidency. At this stage of the investigation, the interrogation of the detained individuals is ongoing. Every detail is being meticulously examined, and in line with the evidence obtained, 1 more person has been detained, bringing the number of people in custody in the investigation to 24. Every detail is being pursued with determination to shed light on this painful incident and to reveal the truth. Those who caused the death of our child Narin will not be able to escape being held accountable before justice."
