Statement on the earthquake from Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç
Following the 6.2 magnitude earthquake that occurred off the coast of Silivri, Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç announced that judicial services are continuing without interruption.
Following the earthquake, which was felt across a wide area in the Marmara region, Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç made a statement via social media.
The statement shared by Yılmaz Tunç on his social media account is as follows:
'Following the earthquake that occurred off the coast of Silivri, Istanbul, and was also felt in our surrounding provinces, necessary checks have been carried out in all units affiliated with our Ministry of Justice.
No negative situations have been encountered in our courthouse buildings, our penal execution institutions, or the service buildings affiliated with our Ministry. There is no interruption in the provision of our judicial services, and the security of the penal execution institutions is being fully maintained.
Necessary facilities are being provided for detainees and convicts in penal execution institutions to communicate with their families. Once again, I convey my best wishes to our citizens affected by the earthquake. May God protect our country and our nation from all kinds of disasters.'
