Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç responds to İmamoğlu's '17 ministers' criticism: 'Mind your own business'
Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç responded to Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu's criticism regarding ministers conducting election campaigns in the field, stating, "Mind your own business. Be sorry for the lost years you have caused in Istanbul. In the past, you shook this country with İSKİ scandals. Now, unfortunately, you are subjecting Istanbul to those dark images with towers of money."
Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç arrived in the Safranbolu district of Karabük to meet with NGO representatives and address the public. Speaking at Misak-ı Milli Square, Minister Tunç requested support for mayoral candidate Ali Büyüközdemir and promised that they would support the projects.
Reacting to CHP Chairman Özgür Özel's remarks on coups, Tunç said, "The Chairman of the Republican People's Party says, 'If young people stage a coup, it is good. If young people stage a coup, they are welcome. I would surrender to that coup.' Can there be such a politician? Is there a young or old version of a coup? We will protect democracy together.
We will never let the flag of national will fall to the ground. There is no going back to those old days when prime ministers and ministers were hanged, politicians were thrown into dungeons, and victims of coups were left to rot in prisons. Those who want to go back will never see the face of power in this country. This nation will not give them the opportunity," he said.

Reacting to Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu's criticism that ministers are conducting election campaigns in the field, Tunç said the following:
"You say 17 ministers are campaigning. Is there a legal or constitutional ban on ministers campaigning? Where did you get this from? You are constantly trying to keep this on the agenda to cover up your own incompetence and your own lost years. What is it, why are 17 ministers in Istanbul? 17 ministers are all over Turkey.
They are both governing the country and listening to their nation among the people in all 81 provinces. You come and smear the government's work and the ministers' work to the citizens, and you engage in disinformation. And when we explain the truth to our nation, you get uncomfortable. Is that so? Mind your own business. Be sorry for the lost years you have caused in Istanbul. Be sorry for your own misery. How did you shake this country with İSKİ scandals in the past? Now, unfortunately, you are subjecting Istanbul to those dark images with towers of money."
Stating that "Our ministers will continue to work tirelessly on the path of serving the nation together with their people," Tunç said, "We will continue to run. They are doing this smearing for this reason. They have no works to show. They have no achievements to produce. They haven't driven a single nail. They are resorting to such disinformation just to overshadow and cover that up.
No matter where they turn, our nation said Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at 17 ballot boxes. It has said AK Party for 22 years. It has said People's Alliance. Now, hopefully, it will say AK Party, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and People's Alliance again at the 18th ballot box," he said.
