Minister Tunç made statements regarding the extradition process of Eylem Tok and her son, Timur Cihantimur. Minister Tunç said, "We have sent the necessary documents. We are also sending any additional explanations that may be needed after each hearing. We hope they will be extradited. There should be no escaping justice."
Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç answered questions regarding current developments in Karabük. Minister Tunç spoke about the expiration of the rent increase cap and the extradition process of Eylem Tok and her son, Timur Cihantimur, who fled to the US and were detained and arrested following Turkey's extradition request.
Explaining that Turkey has shared the necessary documents with the US side, Minister Tunç said that the documents needed after each hearing are also being sent.
"WE HOPE THEY WILL BE SENT TO TURKEY"
Stating that "there should be no escaping justice," Minister Tunç said, "One cannot flee from the Turkish judiciary after causing the death of one person and the injury of others. We issued our red notice decisions and sent our extradition requests. An arrest took place within this scope. We hope that they will be sent to Turkey following the extradition proceedings."
Regarding the expired rent increase cap, Tunç said, "The rent regulation ended as of July 1. It had been extended in 2022 and 2023. It is a matter at the discretion of the Parliament. No such regulation was implemented as of July 1. We have a goal of reducing inflation. In line with this goal, it will proceed on its own course without the need for such limitations. How the rent amount will be increased is also determined by regulations."
