WHAT HAPPENED?

In the March 31 local elections, out of 30 Metropolitan Municipalities, the CHP won 14, the AK Party 12, the DEM Party 3, and the YRP 1. While DEM Party candidate Abdullah Zeydan won the Van Metropolitan Municipality with 55.48 percent of the vote, AK Party candidate Abdulahat Arvas received 27.15 percent of the votes, and New Welfare Party (Yeniden Refah Partisi) candidate Abdullah Sadıksoy received 5.37 percent.

The Van Provincial Election Board decided to give the certificate of election to the second-place AK Party candidate, Abdulahat Arvas, instead of Abdullah Zeydan, whose right to be elected was revoked.

Objection applications to district election boards were made until 15:00 today. The process for applying to the YSK against the provincial election board and provincial consolidation records will end on April 10 at 17:00.
