The Kars Governor's Office has announced that a ban on demonstrations, marches, and outdoor meetings has been imposed throughout the province until February 4.

In the statement made by the Governor's Office, it was stated: "With the exception of events deemed appropriate by the Governor's Office, as well as official holidays, official commemoration days, official ceremonies and celebrations, sports activities, and events and meetings held for scientific, commercial, and economic purposes organized by public institutions and organizations, all kinds of potential actions/events, as well as gatherings, marches, press statements, vehicle convoys, all kinds of welcoming and farewell ceremonies, indoor meetings, hunger strikes, sit-ins, rallies, setting up stands, pitching tents, distributing leaflets and brochures, and hanging posters and banners in all kinds of open and closed areas, as well as the arrival of vehicles and individuals coming to our province from surrounding provinces for the purpose of participating in these actions and events, have been decided to be prohibited within the borders of Kars province until February 4, 2024, pursuant to Article 11 of the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442 and Article 19 of the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations No. 2911."
