Kılıçdaroğlu at CHP Headquarters: 'They have turned our party, the legacy of our Ancestor, into an appetizer for nightclub tables'

Two separate, simultaneous holiday greeting programs will be held in Ankara today for the Republican People's Party (CHP). The start time for both events was announced as 14:00.

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was brought to the position of CHP Chairman by a court decision, will hold his holiday greeting program at the CHP Headquarters. Kılıçdaroğlu is expected to address his supporters there.

It was learned that the speech within the scope of the program will be delivered from the stairs located at the front of the CHP Headquarters building, where the CHP sign is displayed. It was stated that no additional stage or bus would be used for the speech.

While security measures were increased around the headquarters before the event, a sound system, screens, and a platform were set up in the garden. Work areas were also created for members of the press.

As part of the preparations for the program that Kılıçdaroğlu will attend, bus organizations were arranged for party members coming from different provinces.

On the other hand, the previous CHP Chairman, Özgür Özel, will also greet citizens at 14:00 in front of the Ankara Provincial Headquarters.

The slogan in question is also used for AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

According to a report by Mahir Kılıç from Habertürk, party members arriving at the CHP Headquarters were warned not to use derogatory, sarcastic, or hurtful language, other than "Rights, law, justice" and other designated slogans.

Kılıçdaroğlu left his home as of 12:40 and set off for the CHP Headquarters.

"My fellow travelers whose struggle is as great as mountains. I am addressing the devoted heroes of the CHP, the women's and youth branches, our party organization, and the noble children of this Sacred Homeland. Welcome to the square of justice, to the ancestral home; you have honored us."

This place belongs to all of us, it is the home of the people. I am here today to speak about the historical integrity of the CHP, the honor of the national will, and the future of state wisdom.

The issue we are experiencing is not just a debate about a convention. It is not merely a matter of who will be the chairman. It is a matter of whether politics in Turkey will be shaped by morality or money, by law or operations, by the national will or through apparatuses.

"THAT CONVENTION IS A MILESTONE IN TURKISH POLITICS"

I will speak very openly today, but not with anger.

You know there was a change of guard. We said 'so be it' that day. Unfortunately, we saw that the situation is not so. That convention is a milestone in Turkish politics. What happened that day, the allegations that emerged after that day, the files carried to the judiciary, and the deep suspicions formed in public opinion have shown us all at the point we have reached today: If the internal democracy of a political party is crippled, the country's democracy is also crippled. If its delegates become dubious, the trust in the national will suffers a deep wound.

"WHO TURNED OUR ANCESTOR'S PARTY INTO AN APPETIZER FOR NIGHTCLUB TABLES?"

Who turned our Ancestor's party into an appetizer for nightclub tables? I will hold them accountable, I will! Let everyone know this! I will bring the convention ballot box before you as soon as possible. We will hold a clean, pristine convention. Our party members will build the safe harbor of our party. Not me, you will build the safe harbor. Whoever emerges from that ballot box will be the legitimate legal leader of the party and the crown on our heads. We will not allow for irregularities or an obsession with holding onto power.

"WITH FETO REMNANTS..."

I am someone who has only served the nation and the country throughout my life. Standing before you is a man with a clear conscience and head held high, who has never had the slightest connection with any foreign-backed structure, especially the FETO terrorist organization.

When our great leader Atatürk set out for Samsun, he had a death warrant around his neck and a declaration of treason against his name. The efforts of those who have 'normalized' despite our warnings, those who stand subserviently before the palace, to join forces with FETO remnants today and label us as traitors by inciting our nation are in vain.

"I OWE AN APOLOGY TO THIS NATION"

Now, allow this brother of yours, this old man who has taken the most difficult walk of his life, to openly make peace with you before history, right from this spot. I owe an apology to this nation.

I apologize to you for not realizing in time the agents of the FETO terrorist organization, who sold their souls and infiltrated behind our backs for the salvation, justice, and bright future of this nation.

I apologize to you for harboring those oblivious people in our bosom who, while we spoke of the homeland and the nation, sought help from foreign powers behind closed doors and begged for their permission and assistance. 

I apologize to you for not cutting off those hoses in time, which allowed those who turned the labor you provided to this party—saved from your honest earnings with your calloused hands—into appetizers for the illicit tables they set up themselves.

I apologize to you for not being able to unmask in time those who made the honorable delegates of the CHP a subject of bargaining at nightclub tables, and those who dragged the party of Mustafa Kemal to court doors and tried to trample our reputation underfoot.

I apologize to you, to my organization, and to the sea of justice for not being able to root out and expel from this party those bribe-taking mayors who set their sights on the rights of orphans in the people's municipality, and for not being able to weed them out one by one. I ask you, my dear brothers and sisters; can there be illicit money in shopping bags in the father's house?

Can bribes be given in boxes in the father's house? Can conspiracies be set up in the father's house with the instructions of FETÖ accounts? The father's house is lawful, clean, righteous, and belongs to the people. Our father's house is the homeland. We are the owners of the father's house. There can never, ever be an illicit morsel at the table of the father's house; everything is lawful. Because it is the father's house.

Those who sit in the father's house cannot remain silent in the face of allegations of bribe bags under the roof of the Grand National Assembly. How are we to walk the path with those who bring this stain upon our Grand National Assembly and the Republican People's Party? It is not us, but you who will decide.

Those who say, "If there is a closure, a backup party is ready," should know this very well: The Republican People's Party is a party that charts the course for the state. The Republican People's Party is the party of those who adopt morality, virtue, serving their country and citizens, and defending democracy as their motto.

No Republican People's Party member... No Republican People's Party member has a double agenda. This party is the party of those who said "Independence or death!" against the mandatists.

We will be purified. We will be purified of bribe-takers and thieves. First the Republican People's Party, then Turkey will be purified. While we clean our own house with law and morality, we will not for a moment forget our primary duty, which is the troubles of this nation. Because there is a fire in the kitchen of this country. Our retirees are living on market scraps, our workers are not getting the reward for their sweat, and our youth are seeking their future abroad. Turkey is a place of fire. Let no one fall into despair; we will tear through this darkness and cast it away, we will tear it away!

From here, from this historic square; greetings to the millions with whom we walked shoulder to shoulder to bring democracy to this country and with whom we will continue to walk together on the path of justice! Convey the same greetings wherever you go. Those bridges of friendship we have built with our people and that unity of democracy are the cement of this country. Greetings to the true owners of Turkey! Greetings to our headscarved sisters who distributed our brochures during the elections!

Greetings to my brothers and sisters who are apartment caretakers, to my comrades who are paper collectors, to our women who are our hope, to our retirees, and to all laborers!
