Kılıçdaroğlu comments on Can Atalay ruling with FETÖ reference
Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu harshly criticized the stripping of Can Atalay's parliamentary status in a statement made on his social media account.
The Supreme Court of Appeals' decision regarding the stripping of Workers' Party of Turkey (TİP) Hatay MP Can Atalay's parliamentary status was read today at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) General Assembly.
With the reading of the decision, Atalay's parliamentary status was officially revoked. Consequently, the number of TİP deputies has fallen to 3.
While the decision is being interpreted as the trampling and devaluation of the Constitution, a reaction to the Atalay ruling also came from Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.
In a post on his social media account, Kılıçdaroğlu stated that the decision is null and void in the conscience of the nation, and included the following remarks:
"The decision read out by those who called the leader of the FETÖ terrorist organization 'our precious value' is null and void in the conscience of the nation. THERE IS NO PASSAGE for those who stage a coup against the national will! Can Atalay is the deputy of the nation! We will defend democracy, law, and justice to the end."
