Kılıçdaroğlu reacts to Erdoğan: 'It will not become a Ba'ath Party'

A prison sentence of up to 2 years and 4 months has been requested for the 7th Chairman of the CHP, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, in the case where he is being tried on charges of insulting former Minister Erdoğan Bayraktar.

Kılıçdaroğlu reacted sharply to Erdoğan via his social media account, reiterating that Turkey will not become a Middle Eastern country.

Kılıçdaroğlu's statement is as follows:

"The geography of the Middle East is the cradle of poverty, wars, dungeons, and autocracies...

It is the address of despair where journalists and dissenting opinions are punished with imprisonment, and where dictators and their family members live in luxury in palaces while their people are trapped in poverty and fear.

That is why; the Republic of Turkey will not be a Middle Eastern country!

Your party will not be a Ba'ath Party either!

You will not be able to bring the regime you want so much, and you will not be able to become a sultan!!

Journalist @baristerkoglu has also been sentenced to 2 years in prison. My dear Barış, do not be sad; your big heart is greater than their reigns and their dungeons, my dear friend."
