Kılıçdaroğlu responds to Erdoğan's 'Assad affection' remarks: 'I cannot bring myself to say it'

Former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has responded to remarks made by AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan, who stated, "There are different reasons behind his affection for the Ba'ath regime and Assad."

President Erdoğan had said, "They could not digest the fall of the Ba'ath regime. We know the source of their former chairman's bitterness. There are different reasons behind his affection for the Ba'ath regime and Assad."

"I CANNOT BRING MYSELF TO SAY IT"

Kılıçdaroğlu responded to these words from Erdoğan. Posting on his X account, Kılıçdaroğlu replied to Erdoğan, saying, "Do not forget, until just yesterday you were calling him 'my brother Assad.' However, when global powers gave you orders, you changed your policy full of zigzags."

The AKP Chairman targeted me with these words at his party's provincial congress, once again employing his polarizing language and clearly demonstrating his intention to sow seeds of hatred. I cannot bring myself to call you President!

No honorable president who has sworn an oath of impartiality on their honor and integrity would betray that oath. They would not engage in sectarian incitement in their country, nor would they divide their people based on ethnic identities. Shame on you! Do not forget, until just yesterday you were calling him 'my brother Assad.' However, when global powers gave you orders, you changed your policy full of zigzags. Today, those same powers are pulling your strings. Your life is full of deceptions and contradictions.

People's beliefs and identities are their honor! As long as no one betrays their homeland and nation, consumes the rights of others, or engages in corruption. Yet you have been trampling on these values for years!

I am warning you once again: These lands will not allow for divisiveness! Abandon your provocative language and politics of hatred immediately!"
