Laboratory explosion in Sivas: One employee injured
One employee was injured in an explosion at the laboratory of Anadolu Opto Mekanik Teknolojileri A.Ş., a company operating in mechanical technologies in Sivas. The injured worker, who was taken to the hospital following the fire, remains in critical condition.
According to the information obtained, an explosion occurred around noon at the laboratory of Anadolu Opto Mekanik Teknolojileri A.Ş. in the Sivas Organized Industrial Zone. A fire broke out following the explosion, and an employee identified as K.Ş. (51) sustained burns on their hands and neck area.
The injured worker was taken to Numune Hospital after receiving initial medical intervention. Firefighting crews extinguished the fire in a short time.
AFAD and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) teams conducted an investigation at the scene. It was learned that ventilation and measurement efforts by AFAD teams are ongoing. An investigation into the incident continues.
