Landslide in the center of Kuşadası: Half of the street collapsed

It has been reported that a landslide occurred in the hotel district located in the city center of the Kuşadası district of Aydın. It was stated that the landslide, which took place on Gazi Beğendi Street in the Türkmen neighborhood, occurred following heavy rainfall.

LANDSLIDE NEXT TO HOTELS AND BUSINESSES

According to the report by Sözcü, it was stated that moments of fear were experienced due to the landslide that occurred right next to 5-star hotels, houses, and businesses in the area. Information was shared that half of the street collapsed as a result of the landslide.

ROAD CLOSED TO TRAFFIC

It was reported that the area was intervened by the municipal police teams of the Kuşadası Municipality following the incident. It was stated that the road on the street where the landslide occurred was closed to vehicle traffic and security measures were taken in the surrounding area.

STATEMENT FROM THE MUNICIPALITY

It was reported that a statement was made by the Kuşadası Municipality regarding the issue. In the statement, it was expressed that the area where the landslide occurred is located within an excavation site belonging to a construction company.

“NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS AND MEASURES HAVE BEEN TAKEN”

In the municipal statement, it was noted that necessary precautions and measures were taken in the region, and that warnings were issued to the relevant company to implement additional security measures at the construction site.
