She caused a fatal accident: Lawsuit filed against Kerem Kınık's daughter

A lawsuit has been filed against Fatma Zehra Kınık, the daughter of former Kızılay President Kerem Kınık, for causing the death of 17-year-old Batın Barlas Çeki in an accident that occurred in Beykoz on July 9.

The Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has prepared an indictment against Fatma Zehra Kınık for the charges of "causing death and injury by negligence" in connection with the incident, which resulted in the death of one person and injuries to four others.

The first hearing of the trial, in which Fatma Zehra Kınık will be tried, will be held on October 30.

The indictment requests that Fatma Zehra Kınık be sentenced to between 2 and 15 years in prison for the crime of "causing death and injury by negligence."

WHAT HAPPENED?

On July 9, on FSM Street in Kavacık Neighborhood, the vehicle with license plate 34 FKJ 390, driven by Fatma Zehra Kınık Demir, collided with the motorcycle with license plate 34 HUT 980, driven by Yavuz Selim Öztürk, who was heading toward Rüzgarlıbahçe as the car was exiting Baki Street onto the main road.

The driver of the motorcycle and his passenger, Batın Barlas Çeki, were injured, while E.Ü. and M.K., who were walking on the sidewalk, fell to the ground after being struck by the swerving motorcycle.

The two drivers, who were detained following the accident, were sent to the Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor's Office after their procedures at the police station. Following their statements at the prosecutor's office, the drivers were referred to the criminal court of peace with a request for judicial control measures, as they were both found to be 50 percent at fault.

The court released both drivers under judicial control conditions, which included a travel ban and the requirement to sign in at the nearest police station.

Commenting on the matter, Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç stated that he did not yet have information about the file, saying, "If there is an erroneous procedure, this is a situation that can be corrected through the appeal process."
