Lawyers Serkan Günel and Kazım Yiğit Akalın released under judicial control

Lawyers Kazım Yiğit Akalın and Serkan Günel, representing Medya A.Ş. Board Chairman Murat Ongun, who was arrested as part of a 'corruption' investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), were detained in the morning on charges of 'attempting to influence the judiciary' and 'violating the confidentiality of an investigation.'

REFERRED WITH A REQUEST FOR ARREST

After completing their procedures at the police station, lawyers Kazım Yiğit Akalın and Serkan Günel were referred to the courthouse. Following their statements to the prosecutor, they were referred to the Duty Criminal Judgeship of Peace with a request for their arrest on charges of 'attempting to influence the judiciary' and 'violating the confidentiality of an investigation.'
