'Let the girls stay at home' post drew backlash: He claimed it was a mistake and took a step back!

A video shared on the social media account of Kızılay Kayseri Branch President Cafer Beydilli became a trending topic on social media. The video, shared with the title “Let the girls stay at home, please, Chief,” contained statements targeting working women. While the post drew significant backlash in a short time, Beydilli removed the video from his account.

Making a statement following the reactions, Beydilli argued that the post in question was made inadvertently. Stating that the content reflected in the public eye was shared as a result of an interaction that occurred by mistake on his personal social media account, Beydilli expressed that the post did not reflect institutional values or social sensitivities.

HE MADE A STATEMENT AT A PRESS CONFERENCE

Turkish Red Crescent Kayseri Provincial Center President Cafer Beydilli shared his assessments regarding the issue at a press conference he organized. Beydilli said that the content belonging to another user was re-shared by mistake.

Stating that the post was removed shortly after it was noticed, Beydilli expressed that he had no involvement in the preparation, editing, or sharing processes of the video. Noting that the content in question did not reflect his own views, Beydilli stated that he felt the need to make a statement due to the sensitivity created in the public.

Stating that female volunteers undertake important tasks in the aid activities carried out in Kayseri, Beydilli noted that the women's branches make intense efforts to reach those in need.

Expressing that they attach importance to women taking an active role in every area of social life, Beydilli announced that he apologized to the women who were hurt and offended by the incident.
