Letter of support from Ekrem İmamoğlu to Özgür Özel: We will not leave you alone
Ekrem İmamoğlu shared a letter on his social media account expressing his support for CHP Chairman Özgür Özel.
While the agenda within the CHP is dominated by discussions regarding the party convention, notable reactions and messages of support are coming from many different figures. A statement regarding the party's internal agenda also came from Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is currently being held at the Marmara Prison in Silivri.
İmamoğlu shared a letter on his social media account in which he offered his support to CHP Chairman Özgür Özel.
Here is that post by İmamoğlu:
"We reject the planned attacks on our party, our unity and solidarity, and our democracy. We stand with our party and our chairman during this process. I invite our former chairmen and all our party members to be one and together.
To be substantial, to be vibrant, to be one, to be together... Hope is here...
The Nation pulled the tired, pale, hopeless ship to the shipyard with its friends. In a short time, without leaving anyone behind, it set out with the ship, the largest, most magnificent, radiant, and exciting one in the harbor, saying 'full speed ahead'.
Some looked on with envy, others with jealousy.
He always defended both his ship and his companions. In the mosque, in prison, at the cemetery, he showed loyalty in the squares, in actions, and showed perseverance and determination without hesitation.
He made the CHP the number one party in Turkey.
Millions of thanks to Özgür Özel for his friendship, brotherhood, camaraderie, and humanity. We, too, will never leave him alone.
Everything will be very beautiful"
