Lieutenants facing dismissal enter Land Forces Command

The lieutenants, who faced a disciplinary investigation after reciting the officer's oath while crossing swords and chanting "We are the soldiers of Mustafa Kemal" at the Military Academy graduation ceremony, entered the Land Forces Command at 13:35 to present their defense before the High Disciplinary Board.

The lieutenants' lawyers prepared a defense based on legal opinions and case documents, arguing that the actions of the lieutenants did not violate any orders.

In addition to the lieutenants, three commanders who served as regiment, battalion, and company commanders during the ceremony will provide their defense on the same day at the same time. The lieutenants began their defense at 14:00.

Sources from the Ministry of National Defense (MSB) stated regarding the lieutenants who chanted "We are the soldiers of Mustafa Kemal" after the Military Academy graduation ceremony and were referred to the High Disciplinary Board (YDK) with a recommendation for dismissal from the Turkish Armed Forces: "The High Disciplinary Boards will convene today at 14:00. The High Disciplinary Board's decision will be prepared with its justification within 10 business days following the decision date as stipulated by legal regulations. The decision will be shared with the public following the preparation and approval of the reasoned decision."
