Lodos storm in Istanbul: Trees uprooted, roofs blown off
AKOM has announced the toll of the storm and rainfall affecting Istanbul. The statement said, "In Istanbul, where a low-pressure system is effective, 48 trees were uprooted, 6 roofs were blown off, and 26 incidents of dangerous debris being scattered occurred due to the lodos."
The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) reported that the lodos storm and rainy weather affecting Istanbul have negatively impacted daily life.
In the statement made by AKOM, it was stated that the speed of the lodos reached between 40 and 80 kilometers per hour, resulting in 48 trees being uprooted, 6 roofs being blown off, and 26 pieces of dangerous debris being scattered across the city. IBB teams continued their work in the field to remove trees that had fallen onto roads and were negatively affecting traffic.

TEMPERATURES DROPPED SUDDENLY
The statement noted that air temperatures dropped from 19 degrees to 5 degrees due to the rainfall that followed the lodos, and that snowfall was observed in the higher neighborhoods of Sultanbeyli, Pendik, Kartal, and Tuzla.

40 KILOGRAMS OF PRECIPITATION PER SQUARE METER
The rainfall that affected the city throughout the day caused over 40 kilograms of precipitation per square meter in Beykoz and Sarıyer, and 37.6 kilograms in Şişli. In other districts, precipitation between 20 and 35 kilograms per square meter was recorded.
TEAM OF 6 THOUSAND 172 PEOPLE ON DUTY
The IBB continues its efforts to combat adverse weather conditions with 6 thousand 172 personnel and 1879 vehicles. The statement reported that light rainfall is expected to continue tomorrow morning around the Bosphorus on the European side and on the Anatolian side, and that sleet and snowfall may be effective in higher areas.
