Longtime assistant speaks out in Epstein case: 'A master manipulator'

New testimony has emerged in the Jeffrey Epstein investigation, which has been closely followed by the public in the U.S. Lesley Groff, who worked as Epstein's assistant for approximately 18 years, testified as part of an investigation conducted by the U.S. House Committee on Oversight.

According to information reported by ABC News, Groff argued that her relationship with Jeffrey Epstein was strictly professional and claimed she was unaware of the accusations leveled against him.

"OUR RELATIONSHIP WAS STRICTLY PROFESSIONAL"

Stating in her testimony that she had no need to know the details of the activities of Epstein and his alleged accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell, Groff said her job description was limited solely to business organization.

While claiming she had no knowledge of matters that did not concern her, Groff stated that her relationship with Epstein was conducted on a strictly professional level.

SHE EXPLAINED THAT SHE ORGANIZED MEETINGS AND TRAVEL

Lesley Groff explained that, as part of her duties as an assistant, she organized meetings that Jeffrey Epstein held with various individuals.

According to Groff's testimony, she managed the scheduling of Epstein's meetings with celebrities, scientists, and politicians. She also stated that she arranged his daily massage appointments while he was in New York and handled travel arrangements for women associated with Epstein.

"I WAS UNAWARE OF HIS CRIMES"

Describing Epstein as a "master manipulator," Groff argued that, contrary to public allegations, she did not witness any sexual abuse during the massage sessions.

Groff claimed she was unaware of the other crimes Epstein is alleged to have committed, rejecting assessments that she was connected to criminal activities.

Federal prosecutors, however, have presented a different assessment as part of the investigation.

The prosecution, based on the statements of numerous victims, had alleged that Groff played a role in scheduling the massage sessions where sexual abuse reportedly took place and that she was aware of what was happening.

WHAT HAPPENED IN THE EPSTEIN CASE?

Jeffrey Epstein was being tried on charges of creating a sex trafficking ring and sexually abusing numerous girls, the youngest of whom was 14.

Epstein was found dead in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan, New York, where he was being held, on August 10, 2019.

MANY FAMOUS NAMES APPEARED IN THE FILES

The names of many well-known individuals appeared in the Epstein case files released to the public.

It was noted that names such as Prince Andrew, Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, Ehud Barak, Al Gore, Kevin Spacey, Michael Jackson, David Copperfield, Alan Dershowitz, and Bill Richardson were included in the files.

As a result of an investigation conducted by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the U.S. Department of Justice, it was announced that no evidence had been found to support the existence of a "client list" consisting of famous names, which had been a subject of public debate.
