Mahir Polat returns to his post at IMM

Mahir Polat, who was the mayoral candidate for Istanbul's Fatih district in the March 31 local elections, has returned to his position as Deputy Secretary General of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), which he held before the elections.

IMM Deputy Secretary General Mahir Polat had resigned from his position as Deputy Secretary General of the IMM to run for Fatih Municipality in the March 31, 2024 local elections. While AKP candidate Mehmet Ergün Turan won the election, Polat announced that he has returned to his post at the IMM.

Mahir Polat, who made the announcement of his return to duty alongside Ekrem İmamoğlu on his social media account, stated the following:

“After five months filled with effort for a government that Fatih, the most valuable center in world history, deserves, I have returned to my position as Deputy Secretary General of the IMM today.

I continue to walk the path with our Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu in his second term at the IMM.

Continuing to produce and work for Istanbul and Turkey without saying day or night"
