Major blow to Istanbul-based criminal organization: Operations and detention warrants in numerous provinces

Within the scope of the investigation that began in Istanbul, it was determined that the "Karacellatlar," recorded as an organized crime group, were operating in many provinces. It was stated that the organization was primarily active in the Esenyurt, Beylikdüzü, Bağcılar, Küçükçekmece, Sarıyer, Eyüpsultan, Avcılar, Sancaktepe, Bakırköy, Fatih, Bahçelievler, Güngören, and Büyükçekmece districts of Istanbul; and also conducted activities in Mersin, Tekirdağ, Yalova, and various other provinces.

Security units' efforts determined that the criminal structure was managed by V.A., who is in prison, and S.Ö., known publicly by the nickname "Yıldıray," who is a fugitive abroad.

The evidence collected revealed that the structure in question had established connections with other criminal organizations and that the majority of its illegal activities stemmed from conflicts of interest.

According to police reports, the organization's primary sources of income were identified as armed robbery and drug trafficking. The information obtained showed that a total of 48 separate crimes were directly linked to this organization.

Within the scope of the operations conducted, detention warrants were issued for a total of 87 people considered to have ties to the network. The identified addresses were in 14 districts of Istanbul, as well as in Muş, Malatya, Tekirdağ, İzmir, Elazığ, Bingöl, Van, Antalya, and Adana. While search and seizure operations were meticulously carried out at these addresses, it was learned that 34 suspects were apprehended during the raids.

It was noted that operations to capture the fugitive suspects are continuing uninterrupted under the coordination of security forces. Authorities indicated that such operations against criminal organizations will continue in the coming days.
