Major disaster during forest fire response: Water tanker plunges into ravine

A water tanker, which set out to respond to a forest fire between the Gürsu and Kestel districts of Bursa, lost control on rugged terrain in the morning hours and plunged into a ravine.

In the region where the fire has been burning for over 24 hours, teams are making a great effort to bring the fire under control. However, the water tanker, which set out to intervene in the fire that flared up again this morning due to the effect of the storm, was involved in an accident.

While trying to reach the village of Ağlaşan, the water tanker lost control on the rugged terrain and slid into the ravine. The 3 people in the vehicle, which dragged for meters, lost their lives.

Following the accident, health, gendarmerie, and search-and-rescue teams were dispatched to the scene.
