Major operation in 15 provinces! 1 billion TL fraud network dismantled

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya shared the results of an operation conducted by the gendarmerie against cybercrimes on his social media account.

Accordingly, 98 suspects with 1 billion 132 million TL in transactions in their accounts were apprehended in an operation conducted across 15 provinces for the crimes of 'illegal betting', 'qualified fraud' and 'qualified fraud through the use of information systems'.

A large number of mobile phones, SIM cards, computers, bank cards, crypto wallets, and digital materials were seized. 51 of the suspects were arrested, judicial control measures were imposed on 38, and proceedings for the others are ongoing.

Investigations were launched against the suspects for the crimes of; "gaining unfair profit through low-interest loan advertisements", "organizing illegal betting" and "mediating illegal money transfers", "obtaining personal information by using illegal query panels in the internet environment", "committing fraud by directing advertisements and users to illegal betting sites".
