Major operation in Istanbul and Izmir: Detention warrants issued for 176 soldiers
One of the most comprehensive operations against FETÖ has been launched as part of a joint investigation conducted by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices of Istanbul and Izmir. Detention warrants have been issued for 176 suspects, including 174 active-duty soldiers.
The Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices of Istanbul and Izmir have taken action as part of their investigation into the FETÖ structure within the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK).
In the operation, which has been recorded as one of the most comprehensive in recent years, detention warrants were issued for a total of 176 soldiers. It was stated that 174 of these individuals are active-duty personnel currently in service.
The prosecutor's offices announced that the suspects were found to have used the organization's secret communication methods and that their contacts with individuals linked to the organization had been identified. The operation is being carried out simultaneously in numerous provinces, primarily in Istanbul and Izmir.
